I've just landed a job in Bridgewater, NJ and am planning to relocate to that area. We're looking at Bernards and Montgomery townships mainly for the reason that they both have excellent school districts. Looks like houses in Montgomery are less expensive with bigger land, but I'm told the commute from Montgomery to Bridgewater can be pretty tough. Can somebody give me an idea how long it might take from Belle Mead or Skillman to Bridgewater (near 287) in the morning? Also, which town - Basking Ridge or Montgomery, has more convenient living environment, things like shopping, recreation, entertainment, etc.,particularly for kids?

danny, I would suggest posting this on the main NJ board:

or on the Northeastern PA board:

FWIW, why do you want to live in PA and commute to Bridgewater? That would be a hellacious commute, I think you would be better off finding a community in that area to suit your needs and there are plenty to choose from.

Bellmead to Bridgewater 30-45 min in traffic.
Bernards to Bridgewater 5-15 min depending where in each town you live and work

Don't dismiss Bridgewater as a place to live. Especially in the hills North of rt. 22

It's central NJ, all these towns have what you are looking for especially Bridgewater for the kids recreation opportunities.

Thanks for the quick reply. The info is really helpful. Is the area you were talking about north of rt-22 and west of rt-287?
