Franklin Township is large, actually it is the largest township in Somerset County. It stretches all the way from Princeton to New Brunswick and west to Hillsborough. With that said there are some very nice areas in the township such as the areas around Princeton, Hillsborugh as well as the Quailbrook Golf course area. They are also some not very nice areas such as the areas around the New Brunswick/North Brunswick border.

If you have children then schools will be important and according to great schools.net Franklin Township HS ranks a 4 out of 10. There are better options within a 10 mile radus. I would consider South Brunswick, Plainsboro, East Brunswick, Edison or Piscataway instead.

Good Luck.

countryside is in the junction of cozzens lane and Rt.27. Do you say it falls in that "north brunswick/New brunswick" border area?

Thanks much. Yes we are looking at other places as well... but this house was so nice too :-(

Cozzens Lane on route 27 is in North Brunswick and also within the vincinity of New Brunswick (towards route 1). Like OysterCatcher said, it all depends on if you have kids and are planning to use the public school system. The surrounding area such as Princeton is a little further south of route 27.

Thanks so much !!!!

hmm... we have no kids yet... and we need not worry about the school system for 5(?) years, even if we have a baby next year, lets say.

should I be worrying about resale.. because its in this area? ( This is like a startup home for us.. so we will sell it for sure sometime in future.) May be who knows the place will be good then ?

your advice please?

Of course you want to be concerned about resale, you know what they say about location. Take a look at (days on the market) of some of these homes in that area vrs say houses a few miles south in the Kendall Park area of South Brunswick, (info which you can find on realtor.com). My bet is houses don't hold thier value as well in that area of Franklin Park and they are on the market much longer than homes in Kendall Park.
