Default Relocating to NJ from NC

I'm relocating to NJ from NC in the next couple of months. That said, I haven't a real clue where to consider living. Towns like Morristown and Hoboken keep coming up, but I've yet to visit either of these two places. A few of the things that are important to me are: 1) 30 minute or less commute to work (warren, nj), 2) Good social scene for thirty somethings, 3) presence of running or biking trails, and 4) Safety. Any suggestions or opinions in general would be greatly appreciated.

Hoboken to Warren will be very tough to make in 30 minutes. I think an hour is more likely in the morning. Just getting out of hoboken may take 30 minutes depending on where you live. If I were you, I'd look into Morristown, Westfield, or New Brunswick. You should be able to get to Warren in 30 minutes give or take from all three towns. All are active towns with some nightlife for a 30 something and are for the most part safe towns. Westfield is very nice. I'm not sure if Westfield has any biking trails. New Brunswick has trails along the canal.

New Brunswick is a bit urban and not THAT safe, although it does have a small city feel. I would also suggest somerset, which is right next to new bruns. but if you have or planning to have children, then reconsider. West field was a good suggestion, but also look at Cranford or Bridgewater and those surrounding areas.

With the amount of crime in New Jersey you'll have no problem making your own running trail the first time someone sticks a gun or knife in your ribs and asks for your wallet. Be aware that due to the high taxes in New Jersey you may find those that are asking for the money in your wallet may be politicians and not criminals......although....in New Jersey theres not much difference between the two !!!
