Default Madison Vs Westfield... help me choose!

Hey there,
We've found houses that we liked in our price range (around 530k) in both these towns. Prefer the house in Madison a bit more... taxes aren't that much different (house is accessed pretty high). Commute isn't really an issue right now... husband works from home 3 days and week, in the city 2 days a week, but he floats around alot (he also works out of edison at times.)
I'm more concerned with lifestyle... schools, downtown etc.
Madison seems more quaint, Westfield seems more bustling. Maybe younger? (We're young 30's, no kids but plan on it soon.)

Any input would be great.
Thanks!

I don't think you could go wrong either way. Both are great towns with great schools. Like you said, westfield is a busier downtown with a lot more going on. Madison's downtown is smaller and quieter. I guess it depends what you prefer.

My husband and I are in the same demographics as you and picked Madison over Westfield. We found the taxes to be slightly lower than Westfield. I work in NYC and prefer the Midtown Direct train line (no transfer).

We looked everywhere before choosing Westfield, we couldn't be happier. We love our town, it's the best place we've ever lived, wonderful neighborhoods, tons of things to do with the kids, friendly people, great schools. We definitely made the right choice for us. We like the bustling downtown, I haven't been to a mall since we moved here, and there is something for everyone there. Feel free to PM me if you'd like more details.
