I have not, but I did do a lot of research a few years ago. Short answer, I would buy or have built a modular home without any hesitation.
Long answer:
There are misconceptions about modular homes. They are NOT mobile homes. They are stick built homes that are built in sections and delivered to your site for final assembly. They meet the exact same building standards as a traditional stick built.
FOr me, the biggest plus of a modular is that the modules are built inside, in a warehouse. No rain/snow/cold/heat attacking the structure before the work is complete and the house dried in.
Also, since the workers build these thigns in a factory mode, I would assume that there are some quality improvements to be had, given the nature of mass production. If one teams job is to build walls all day, in the same way, in the same place, you would assume that they would get that task down pat pretty well.
So, I would do it without hesitation.
