1,100 edison or 800 jersey city. transportation in j.c. to anywhere within 10 miles is excellent. U will have to pay electric, ur cable bill and maybe heat.

near jersey city there's new jersey city university- a state college, njit, hudson county college, newark rutgers and stevens institute of technology. all good colleges.

Jersey City to Edison is about a 40-45 minute drive (30 miles).

I have always had alot of luck finding aparments in Jersey City through Craigslist ( north jersey apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist )

Jersey City has very large South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Arab communities. Especially Indian and Egyptian communities. In the Journal Square/Heights area you'll find a great selection of halal meat shops, grocery stores, and restaurants.

Hope this helps.

Edison, yes to all the above. Plenty of halal meat and safe as well. College there is rutgers, devry, kean, maybe a couple others.

Iselin, which is a section of Woodbridge (next to Edison) has a Muslim community. Not sure about the shops, but I would imagine there must be with an established community.

Paterson, NJ, also has a large Muslim community and they definitely have Halal food. I know I see a live Halal meat supplier advertised when my train passes through. Some of the mosques have joined up with other religious organizations in the area to form interreligious groups that address social justice issues and foster understanding and acceptance among different types of people, if you are interested in that, as an aside.
