I was wondering if anyone here lives in or has visited either Cross Creek Pointe or the Grand Chester in Englewood, NJ. I'm looking at condos in both of these, and I'd love to hear pros and cons, or any opinions in general. If you are familiar with either of these developments, please chime in.
So far here is my little list that I came up with... Grand Chester Pros -- Walking distance to town, large units, pre-war building with lots of character, big fireplace. Grand Chester Cons -- No washer/dryer in unit (and you can't put one in), no visitor parking. Cross Creek Pros - Community swimming pool, washer and dryer in unit, some with walk in closets, lots of parking Cross Creek Cons -- sandwiched between 95 and 4 (so there is a constant highway noise, though it is muted by the sound barrier, lots of stairs to reach some units, higher taxes. I think I'd buy a place in the Grand Chester for sure if it weren't for the lack of washer/dryer. Would you buy a place without w/d in unit? I don't mind renting in a place like that, but I don't know how I feel about buying a place without w/d. I feel like it'd be hard to sell...doesn't seem like a lot of people would consider a place without it. What are your thoughts? |

It's funny, I never really noticed the highway sound the first time at Cross Creek, but I went back another day, and I definitely noticed it the second time.
Of course the other place is real. It's on the corner of Chester and Grand...right next to the Jaguar dealership. |
