Public urination is a disorderly persons offense. But let's say you stood in the middle of the street where everyone could see you, especially if children saw you then I can see it being stretched to indecent exposure.

Every man has done this at some point in his life. Many women have done this (concerts, etc). In college I got busted I think three times for it. The fine really sucks!

I got ticketed when I was 17 and I pissed and moaned about the fine which was $100 at the time. $250?!?!?! I think I better go before I leave the house...

I do not believe it rises to the level of a disorderly persons offense. It is normally treated as a municipal ordinance violation.

I would like to say I had brass ones big enough to pee ON the cop for giving me a public urination ticket but i didnt. I DID however think about it if that counts. Mine was only $100 about 10 years ago.

In many cases it is handled by a town ordinance that isn't a criminal offense. Unless there was a tie in to others observing it it doesn't rise to a sex offense statute.

Yeah public urination is almost always just a public ordinance violation which does not stay on your record and is merely a fine, like a speeding ticket. If you were applying for a high security job or a high status federal government job, the ordinance could be seen, but it is unlikely such an offense would affect any job or future. Bottom line: not a big deal. Pay the fine (which sucks) and forget about it.

Wow- can you imagine? -
If I was caught just 1/2 the time in my younger and stupid years, Id be doing 25- to life .
Would have been humane if the cop gave ya a break- - but that rarely happens, I look for a gas station as soon as possible these days-

Just out of curiousity- why did you ask this?? Is it that kind of an offence in any other state??

I'm pretty sure the Sex offender part would be if you had your junk out in front of a girls school on a sunny day.

If you're drunk enough to do that I think the offense would be

Attempted assault with a dead weapon.
