The last 2 weekends, I have heard professional fireworks in the distance from my house in Westwood. Figured last weekend was some kind of Labor Day celebration, now I am hearing them again tonight. Heard them at 9:30 and now again at 10pm. My friend in Oradell said he can hear them too. Any idea where its coming from?
Are you able to tell if it is a professional display, as opposed to just some people who may have happend to have purchased them & might be setting them off....?

You know, we heard fireworks out our window last night. We live by the bay and sound tends to carry over water. Like you guys, we heard a definite "finale." I wonder if this is becoming a trend in some towns to do a post-Labor Day display.
It definitely seems to make sense for North Jersey towns to plan something after the beach season is over and everyone is "back home" and starting school and getting involved in community activities again.
I heard them again, tonight! It definitely is becoming an odd trend for me to hear them these past few weeks. At first, I thought it might be a neighbor doing it, but after reading this thread... That explains some things. Might as well shout "Happy Fourth of July!" every time they go off.
Heard something in Hoboken, in daylight hours. At first I thought it was a helecopter, but it wasn't regular and it did not "pass by". A kid was looking around too wondering what it was. I think I heard it about 4 or so, and again a bit later.
But fireworks, in the middle of the day?
