Default Springfield to Rutgers University - New Brunswick

I currently use my car to commute to Rutgers in New Brunswick (30 minutes) but I been thinking that using public transportation could be more efficient (I could read on my way to school), unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable of buses or train routes. Any tips about which buses or trains I could take from Springfield to Rutgers? I can have a member of the family drop me to either a bus stop or train station.

**Dorming is not an option!

not sure about the bus routes but if you were to take a train, you will have to go first to newark from springfield and then take a connecting train to new brunswick. if you take a train from the union station, it is about 10 minutes to newark and then another 20-25 minutes to newark plus the time to get a connecting train. overall, maybe a 45-60 min trip.

Yes, without traffic is not bad. I just want to use my time more efficiently.

You are using your time efficiently. If you can get there in 30 minutes by car, stick with it. Get some books on tape in your field if you want to use the time more efficiently than just listening to the radio etc. You'll never get there more quickly on public transportation.

Thank you luckyshoes, but sometimes when I come back very late I get sleepy. And Sleepy and Driving is not good. If I can take public transportation on those days that I end late it would be nice!!!
