Commute from Fairview to Wyckoff
I am looking at a job in Wyckoff, NJ and would be moving from the Southwest, having never lived in NJ before. We're looking at Fairview as a good possibility for an apartment. Can someone tell us what the average commute time between Fairview & Wyckoff would be? Any information would be appreciated.

Fairview and Wyckoff are about 20 miles apart. Commuting time would be about 35 minutes.

Fairview isn't that nice I don't think. At least Wyckoff is a much nicer town than Fairview.
Midland Park, or Waldwick would be similar priced for apartments, and a 5 minute commute.

You know I think I messed up. I was actually looking at Fair Lawn not Fairview. I may need to post another thread. What is the commute time between Fair Lawn and Wyckoff? And would going from Fair Lawn in the morning be going the right direction during rush hour (against most of the traffic)?

Fair Lawn is an easy 15 minutes. very easy drive. It is more going against traffic since Fair Lawn is closer to the city but some will be going up 208 towards 287.

Thank you so much. It sounds very doable. From what I've read on these postings, Fair Lawn appears to be a good option for costs for someone who is having sticker shock from moving from the Southwest.

Easy commute to Wyckoff. If you go when it's really quiet, and you live near Route 208, you can get there in 10 minutes. Zip right up 208 North. Traffic does sometimes get backed up, especially in the afternoon rush hour though. You could do a local road commute in maybe 20 minutes.
Fair Lawn still isn't cheap, but it is more affordable than many other Bergen County burbs. Figure $1100 - $1200 for an older 1 BR garden apartment, add a couple hundred on for a 2 BR.

Yes, Fair Lawn is much nicer than Fairview and a much easier commute. Zhelder is accurate in the estimation of rents in the area.
