Hey,

I am a bloke in my early twenties from scandinavia. I am coming to pay visit to my relatives in Newton, NJ, sussex county that is, in august. I was wondering how is the nightscene in Newton area or elsewhere in sussex county. Any good bars or clubs? I need some day-time activities as well so any suggestions where good-looking dude can struttle around to meet up some american ladies?

Oh boy, I lived in Sussex county while I was in college and as a child, and there is not much nightlife. If you are going in August I would recommend going to the state fair in Augusta; there will be plenty of young hot girls in short shorts drinking beer and looking for foreign men.

Otherwise, nightlife is all about knowing what bars have the most young people and at this point, I couldn't tell you. Don't expect any clubs at all unless you are able to drive a bit to other, more urban areas.

Default I live in Sussex

and I have to agree with the other poster, there is not much nightlife to be had around here. There are a few good resturants in Newton, Andover , Sparta and Vernon but not too sure how hip the nightlife is.

During the day go to High Point State park. Lot's of trails and swimming. Also check out Lake Hopatcong.

dude, you're in the wrong area altogether for that kind of stuff. I'm a 24 year old single guy thats lived here for 20 years (minus 4 years spent in Tallahassee at school). Its a very family oriented county. There is no crime (very good thing obviously), and not very diverse whatsoever.

There really is no single scene.....no close universities, and most of the girls in the area are high school/elementary students. Obviously you will see some in their 20s, but because the closest real uni is in Morris (?) County (FDU?), you may be disappointed.

Unfortunately, while you're here, you may be quite bored.

I wonder how this bloke fared during his vacation last year.

In and around Sussex County, there are alot of small towns with Scandinavian country/city names + lakes, too!
