Taurus, are you not also an EB graduate?
I am with the Class of "Week Ending 8/29/09"
Will you re activate at your 2-year mark?

The first week for which EUC Tier I benefits were paid was the week ending July 12, 2008. No EUC Tier I benefits can be paid for any period after week ending June 5, 2010.

According to above, you cannot start Tier I after Dec 20,09, unless they (Congress)changes the deadlines.
im on my initial Claim, which I started August 1 2009.

So you see the post I got that info from NJDOL.

Another thing......you've been on the other "new extension" thread, it is a ball of confusion.

I still don't know, and I don't know if anyone does, if the new extension is for those expiring EB or expiring any extension. Unless they extend deadlines past next month, the only chance is the new extension, but in the past extensions, to qualify, you had to finish the preceding one.

Maybe diorgirl can help you!

Default Update to call early

If I was you, I would call a few days before your time is up so as to not cause any lapse in your benefits.
After calling 3 days before my anniversary date , and being told that all is taken care of and just keep calling in as usual, I called in today ,as usual, and the computer told me that my claim has expired and I have to reopen the file. Now, here we go again, after 5 attempts to get thru to someone, finally on the 6th try I got to speak to a human being instead of a computer. After explaining the whole fiasco to the nice Rep. , she told me that the 1st girl had entered all my info into the system BUT she must not have known that -you can't reopen a claim that isn't closed yet! So today the 2nd Rep. reopened my closed claim. Moral of the story= call on anniv.date or later, early bird doesn't catch the worm in this case !!!!

My guess is, you may have worked enough in the last 5 quarters to qualify for an entire NEW claim. I was in the same boat as you and when I had to file for a new claim while still drawing EB I had earned enough because of severance pay, but didn't have enough worked weeks in...if I had, I would have gotten a new claim and started the loop over again. I'm in Michigan, NJ may be different, hope this helps...

Has anyone, heard of or, been denied the 20 weeks of EB after collecting the first 3 levels (Initial,Tier1,Tier2) of benefits. Wondering if that is possible??

Weed - do you feel you qualify according to this from the NJDOL? There are some date qualifiers in there.

Extended Benefits (EB)

Also, verify that the rep actually updated your file correctly. I had to call three times after my one-year anniversary before they got it right. It's still morning so you just might get through some time today.

Default Verify ??

Thanks for the reply. When I spoke to the rep. yesterday she said that my check for 10/24 and 10/31 would be put in the mail today(Friday) and I usually get them on Mondays so I'll wait till then to see if I'll have another date, on the form, to call in for another check. If the date is there then I'm ok but if not then I'll have to call back to talk to someone to re-verify what I already re-verified. You would think that they would have a better way to take care of this verification than to call to a person that keeps getting it wrong. If they updated their computer system ,to handle this, there would be no problem but then some people would be out of a job .

Default Fed Taxes

I know that the 1st $2400 of unemployment is not taxable but did anything become of the bill that the 2 Senators were trying to get passed that would freeze taxes for 2 years for the unemployed? I remember reading this early this year. Thanks

Can someone please explain this a little better to me? I've tried to read as much as possible here but it's still a little confusing to me.

I filed my original claim on 12/07/08.

My base year is 07/01/07 - 06/30/08
My benefit year is 12/07/08 - 12/05/09

I exhausted my original benefits on 06/06/09

I then received a notice stating I would receive EUC benefits. ( The claim was automatically filed on 06/07/09 and started receiving those payments 2 weeks after)

I exhausted my EUC benefits on 11/07/09. After claiming my last EUC check there was a note at the bottom saying I may be eligible for additional benefits.

Are these additional benefits the EB? What do I do next? Wait? Call? If I don't qualify do I still wait until 12/07/09 to call and reopen the claim. (Something I learned here). Can I even reopen my claim? I still don't understand what Tier I'm in.
To top this off my call center reps aren't exactly the most helpful bunch.
