FYI: No smoking w/ kids in the car in Keyport
Just a little FYI ... Keyport, NJ just passed a law that says you can't smoke in your car if you have kids in it. (I live in the next town over)

Sad that people are so dense they need a law to tell them not to smoke in the car with kids in it. Just the other day I saw a woman puffing away with 2 youngish kids in the back with all the windows rolled up. Yukky.

Yeah it is sad, and it should be common sense over a law. Second-hand smoke can actually be worse than the habit

Smoking in the presence of your children is bad. Very bad IMO.
Having some local politicians making it unlawful to do so is ridiculous.
What next? How about a law that punishes parents that take their chubby little porkers to McDonalds. Kids being fat today is a problem from what I read but does anyone want some elected yahoos to step into deciding what and where you feed your kid?
I can't believe that some parents let their kids listen to music loaded with references to "bitches, hos and cop killin'". Or dress like urban thug wannbes. Maybe we need more laws to keep a lid on that.
After all, it's for the children.
Only in the People's Republik of New Jersey.

I agree with what you're saying but I think the law had more to do with smoking while your kids were in the car with you. A lot of people are just not responsible enough and even though I'm surprised the law is necessary, the fact is...it is necessary. It's funny because these days, the parents want to blame video games and rap music but yet they don't want to blame who is ultimately responsible: themselves. Just say 'no' to your kids

Disney has changed their rules and now the entire place will be smoke free...what a relief.
Speaking for myself, I have asthma, I simply can't breath in smoke without become ill from it.

Let me guess...you're a smoker. Only a smoker would actually get offended by this statement
