myrab is on a distinguished road
I wouldn't feel safe in Tom's River in general. It has some pretty areas, river front properties and such, but I couldn't relax there.

Huh? You do know it was rated the third safest city in America according to the FBI crime stats, correct? What reason could you have for thinking TR is a dangerous place? Unless you have a horrible fear of housewives driving oversized SUVs or teenie boppers at the mall, I'd say you're pretty safe.

Neptune kinda fits your description. It has a ghetto-ish area near Asbury Park and then nicer sections like Shark River Hills and the area near the water and west on Rt. 33.
