Default Middlesex Boro vs. Bridgewater??

We are looking at some homes in the towns of Bridgewater and Middlesex Boro. We have some questions:

We have heard mixed reviews about Middlesex Boro; can anyone provide some concrete information about safety, family-orientedness, quality of neighborhood, etc? Which parts of town would be considered more desirable?

As for Bridgewater, are there any parts of town that should be avoided for a conservative, young family? Is Bridgewater considered an upper-middle class town?

Any other nearby town recommendations would be helpful, as well. Thanks in advance for any advice.

In Bridgewater avoid Findern and Bradley Gardens. Best areas are North of rt 22 and inside the I287 loop.
People move up from Middlesex to Bridgewater, seldom do folks move from Bridgewater to Middlesex.
That being said there are a few very nice areas of Middlesex and prices are generally lower than Bridgewater.
Yes Bridgewater is considered more up scale than Middlesex

My husband is a teacher in Middlesex Boro. The Hazelwood School District is the nicest, followed by the Watchung School District. Middlesex is a solid, hard-working, blue collar town. Nothing bad about it at all.

Bridgewater is huge, but is surely considered more well-to-do than Middlesex.

I guess it comes down to your price range.
