Default Secaucus Bus Question (129/190)

I was looking into Secaucus as an alternative to Edgewater/Fort Lee for raising an Asian family in an area with acceptable schools and GREAT commute.

I like the northeast half of Secaucus above RT3 a lot more as it looks more suburban, has all three schools, better walkscore and newer condos. The southwest portion look somewhat ghetto/rundown.

However, if you live in Sussex Green or Riverview you are reliant on the much less frequent versions of 129/190. If you can't get into one of those you are forced to walk 10-20 minutes through some industrial looking areas. It is ugly.

Harmon cove in southwest portion of Secaucus is slightly better, but you still have to walk 10 minutes from the bus stop. And like the above developments it is kind of close to marsh, have that low tide smell in the summer.

The dream commute location seem to be some of the newer townhouses/condos right around Plaza center. You get both 129 and 190, and an incredible 20 minute commute into Port Authority with super frequent bus services. I can 45 minute door-to-door anywhere in Manhattan with that.

However, the town center area look unattractive, feel like blue collar areas in Brooklyn/Queens . . . Any alternatives before I have to scrap Secaucus off my list? The high school doesn't really fit my requirement either . . .

I am interested in knowing more about Secaucus as far as living is concerned, too.

I enjoy the shopping there (Best Buy, Sam's Club), also looking forward to the L.A. Fitness opening soon.

I haven't seen any areas that look that appealing to live in Secaucus, though. That's probably because I don't drive through there much besides the highways, but I would like to hear more about the residential areas of the city.
