So a friend of mine who moved out of NJ fifteen years ago is coming to visit in a couple of weeks. He's got a real craving for Manhattan Clam, so I am seeking opinions on where some of the best places that serve it are in the Central NJ area. Any one have any favorite places? Can be a diner, can be a deli - hit me up!

Mahnatten is a very popular cocktail for those who like strong drinks.
Manhatten clam chowder just sucks compared to good NE chowder.

Spike's in Pt. Pleasant Beach is well-known for their great clam chowder.

Well, the friend lives in New Hampshire now, so he gets all the NE chowder that he can stomach. He's craving Manhattan. Who am I to deny him?

Anything closer to Monmouth or middlesex county, anyone? I wonder if the Skylark Diner has decent chowder?

Default O'Connor's Beef n Chowder House

I am pretty sure they serve different chowder each day so you would have to call in advance to make sure they have the right one when you are going. It's very good!

Hey Marilyn!

It was the summer from hell. I was admitted to the ER twice and then long term facility... I was away for 3 months. I'm better now but not up to going out yet. Thanks for the kind offer tho. I really missed you guys too.
