Hi all:

Is there another maternity ward out in the sussex area (or anywhere near Vernon, NJ 07422) that can compare to the St. Barnabus Medical Center reputation? St. barnabus came highly recommended and I'm looking for something that is reliable and capable.

I'll be moving from Clifton to Vernon, NJ and am currently in my 4th month of pregnancy. I have a great OB/GYN right in Livingston and had my first child at St. Barnabus. I will be one hour and 5 minutes away from St. Barnabus (after the move) and am posting to find out my options.

Hi...I ahd my daughter in Middletown at Horton Maternity Ward and it was wonderful...great nurses, all needs met and I would recommend to anyone.
I also have stayed at Newton hospital and it was also a wonderful hospital....try to stay away from the small hospital in Sussex except for a real emergency, forgot the name, it does not have a maternity ward but I was there several times with childrens ER visits and it is not much more than a clinic.
Good luck.

Default Vernon

Had almost all my children in Newton Memorial Hospital, Newton NJ had #4 in the elevator of the hospital, didn't make it in time. Living in Vernon/Glenwood with emergencies we went to St. Anthony's Hospital, Warwick NY for everything else closer to home up Rt. 94.

Winters in Vernon can be rough.......so please plan ahead for icey roads, no snow plows on roads, electric down.........remember its a rural township might take longer to get to a hospital with bad road conditions.

St. Anthony's in Warwick, NY used to have a bad reputation. How are they now? I went there for a flu clinic a couple years ago and it looked like they were doing some remodeling.
