Young White Female Looking For Apartment in Middlesex County - Help with location?
I just got a new job in the Edison area...not too far from the Home Depot on Route 1.
I would like a 1 or 2 bedroom Apartment in a safe area, not necessarily in Edison. I can go as high as $1800, but would prefer something in the 1400-1600 range. Truthfully I looked at a few complexes in Edison and they were overwhelmingly Indian, I really did not feel like I fit in.
I am not too familiar with Middlesex County, I had been living up North for the past 2 years, not originally from NJ.
Can anyone suggest an area in Middlesex County for a single, young, white, female?

We lived at Millbrook Apts across from the college. Very family friendly.

Maybe I should have my description be a "young, White female" when I'm looking for a place to stay. Then I can get information on neighborhoods that are in decent and low crime condition. *sarcasm*

In that area, I'd get over the whole Indian thing. Hope you like curry!

Would you be expecting different recommendations if you were a young black female?

Possibly
Didn't think it was a big deal, I've scoured these threads and have seen some people specifically looking for Muslim communities, Hispanic Communities, Asian Communities, etc...
Again, not being familiar with Middlesex County, I thought perpahs there were a few cities that I might fit into better.
Obviously Edison is predominantly Indian..what's the difference if I am looking for a predominantly white community???
Does anyone know anything about the Brunswicks? Woodbridge? Fords? etc
Thanks

Give her a break. Because she wrote white, people get their panties all in a bunch. But if an Indian came on here and said looking for an Indian community, it would be all sunshine and roses for them.
To the OP, maybe Metuchen, East Brunswick, South Brunswick. You could also try Edison. Short commutes are a good thing. Good luck.

That's kind of true. Not a bad thing. And all of the Indian food is nice to have around there.

I know we don't have a ton of apartment options, but Sayreville is mostly Polish. To be honest, I had looked in Edison when I was buying a house as well and even though I did put in an offer on a house (was rejected), I was concerned about fitting in as a single woman amidst a community where I might not share the same culture or language as my neighbors. In my neighborhood now, especially when I work from home, I'm grateful to be able to have some light conversation and catch up with my neighbors.
If you consider Sayreville, just avoid the Winding Woods complex on the Old Bridge border.
