Boardwalk hotels on weekend $$$$
Stay off the boaldwalk if you are looking to save
I was there a couple of weeks ago and went over to a hospital in Philly to visit some one and the dam tolls between the AE & bridge was like about $16 rt

You are out of your freaking mind! I have not seen one single toothless homeless person in the 12 years since I started going to AC. cabs? Yes, there are some - out on Pacific Ave. Cabs are not allowed on the boardwalk. I don't care for the Borgata, so I've only been there once - there's not a single thing to do there if you aren't actively gambling. Boring. Same for Harrah's and Trump Marina. It's obvious you haven't been on the boardwalk in decades.
I LOVE the AC boardwalk. The casinos have done a lot - for the boardwalk, the new stores off Atlantic Ave, the refurbished buildings along the boardwalk, the new shopping pier, new stores all along the boardwalk; the beach has been reclaimed and erosion stopped. During the summer all the casinos have beach events.

are you a toothless homeless person? i dont see how someone can walk along the boardwalk and say there arent a bunch of homeless people. the cabs are pedicabs (i know i said petty cabs). they are like homeless people trying to earn an honest buck. i was there a couple of weekends ago and there were tons of them.
the borgata is for the elitist people like me. i dont gamble. i go there mostly in the summer so i spend the day by the pool and the evening at a restaurant and maybe bar if we are up to it. my most recent trip we went to the pier mall then walked along the boardwalk to the tropicana where we say "where the wild things are" on the imax.

if you are booking a flight that would be more expensive...thus not saving ANY money, actually spending more!

but you can do all that stuff where you live. AC is for gambling...something most people can't do in their place of residence. If you are going to AC just for the pool, restaurants/bars & a movie...you are better off just saving your money and staying at home.

It's no vegas, but come on, this is a severe exaggeration.
I don't think many degenerates are gambling...considering if they really are degenerates, they probably don't have jobs...thus, not having any money to gamble. Furthermore, vegas is expensive with flights and everything else, AC is a good way to get away for a night or a weekend if you live relatively close by (a few hours or whatever) and can't get out to Vegas.
I am a single, young, attractive female. Everytime I have went I have went with a girl-friend similar to me. We have never encountered any trouble or harrassment on the boardwalk.
Nightlife is great, def.
As for pedicabs, come on, they are not bad. Ever been to NYC? Loaded with them.
If you think AC is littered with "toothless homeless people", then the house I live in must really be a cardboard box....b/c I go to AC alot. I am certainly not homeless or toothless.

i could gamble online from home if i wanted to also. i could also cook my own dinner but i enjoy going to a restaurant. AC may be gambling for you but for me its a relaxing weekend with delicious food.
