Atlantic City on a Budget? (Absecon: 2009, high school, gangs)

definitely get the players card because after a couple of times we started getting comp rooms. Definitely stay in Absecon because it's cheaper. My husband and I like the Borgata Buffet. LOTs to choose from and about $22 each for lunch and that fills us up for the whole day. I like playing at Harrah's, Showboat, and Borgata. Definitely check out the stores on the pier and the atlantic city museum by the Showboat which are both free. You can do it on a budget because walking around all the stores and casinos are free.

I don't think many degenerates are gambling...considering if they really are degenerates, they probably don't have jobs...thus, not having any money to gamble. Furthermore, vegas is expensive with flights and everything else, AC is a good way to get away for a night or a weekend if you live relatively close by (a few hours or whatever) and can't get out to Vegas.

I am a single, young, attractive female. Everytime I have went I have went with a girl-friend similar to me. We have never encountered any trouble or harrassment on the boardwalk.

Nightlife is great, def.

As for pedicabs, come on, they are not bad. Ever been to NYC? Loaded with them.

If you think AC is littered with "toothless homeless people", then the house I live in must really be a cardboard box....b/c I go to AC alot. I am certainly not homeless or toothless.

trust me, most people gambling are degenerates. lots of geezers and trashy people hoping to make a few bucks. its sad. you ever go there monday to friday? i dont but im sure it aint pretty.

ive never been harrassed by the toothless bums, its just unsightly.

the pedicabs dont really bother me much, but its also not pleasant. it was kind of weird last time because they outnumbered people on the boardwalk and i felt sorry for them.

i generally stay in a suite at the borgata. im not big time but my mom is.

AC is usually good on the weekend nights when all the daytrippers have cleared town and you only have people who can afford a night at weekend rates in the hotels.

no, im saying its second rate. basically that if you are going to go to AC and you want the experience, then you should probably stay in one of the main hotels. staying in absecon and driving to the main area each day and then back to shower and back to dinner seems pretty crappy to me.

The OP asked how to do it on a budget. Of course it's nicer to stay on the boardwalk or near it but it's not as good for a budget of $200 for the weekend, all the money goes to the hotel and that doesn't cover it all even. I mean yeah i'd rather stay at the nicest suite in Caesar's or Borgata but I wouldn't recommend that to someone who is on a budget of under $200.

Besides, Absecon is closer to a Wallmart so i think you would like it better. You could go there and look at all the cheap prices and think to yourself "wow this is so great what an awesome AC vacation!" LOL!!! Don't worry its an elite Walmart they have there. ROFL!!!

By the way I still don't know how gangster is second rate; didn't all the gangsters in Vegas and AC stay in the best suites and throw money around on everything? I don't understand why you'd use gangster to mean second rate. Watch the movie Casino or Godfather or any other gangster movie or Sopranos and you'll see they all drive nice cars and wear nice clothes and live in mansions.

well, you suggest someone who wants to visit AC on a budget to stay in absecon then they might say that absecon isnt AC. so yes its cheaper but it may not provide them with the experience that they want.
