I think I did say if you are retired, have no mortgage and a retirement income then yes the south may be just the ticket... even some of the urban areas like Atlanta may have a better salary scale just too bad your Mom didn't do that a few years ago...but if you need to work that's another story..yep FL is a dream land all right..you can pick up a short sale 3 bedroom casa down in the Fort Myers area for under $75K because all those people no longer have jobs and are losing ther homes......pages and pages of them on one real estate site
As for the 82 and gorgeous..that is not everyone's nirvana, many people prefer winter & winter sports such as skiing etc over hot humid buggy weather, if it works for you that is all that should matter to you

I noticed you are always jumping on people when the subject of Florida comes up. Yes, I love it here. Am very fortunate to live down here, go to the most beautiful quiet beach and enjoy the lifestyle. My friend came down a couple of months ago and would love to live here but is stuck there with his great job! He can have the best of both worlds if he would take advantage of the economy and buy a nice bank owned home here and spend his vacas in it. He admits retiring down here at an older age will leave you limited at all the things that can be seen and done in this state!
There is no problem with the heat here. I love it versus snow and a wind chill of 17 degrees. Your blood thins out after a while here. Besides, the beach is always breezy and 5 degrees cooler!
My dream is now to own a cottage somewhere in Jersey so I can have my own place to stay and bring all my dogs when I visit.
I am sure you would rather be down here at the beach today! It is 83, breezy and beautiful sunshine, no pollution either!
Plus I love having the windows open for the next 7 months.
Besides, who said I hate NJ? Stop putting words in our mouths. I was very fortunate to have grown up there in a nice town in Bergen. I just got tired of the cold weather and nothing to do there and the high $$$ of living there. Plus the taxes are the biggest ripoff!

Just as you Jersey bash and NO I WOULD NOT want to be at your beach...not everyone loves the beach...talk to me when you are in your 50's and have skin like a tanned hide and bunches of face wrinkles from all the sun exposure
FL is not for everyone, thats why states like SC & NC have what they call the half backs..people who moved to FL and hated it, can no longer afford to move back to the North East so they go to NC & SC..half way back
Fl is the last place on the face of the earth I would live...transient state with lots of cuckoo birds living there
No pollution...hahahahaha..have you ever been to Miami???

Having just vacationed with friends at Ft. Lauderdale I have no idea what you are talking about. The place looks just like NJ except for Palm trees instead of pine trees and gorgeous white sand beaches with warm water. I've seen a lot wrinked prunes running around jersey as well. The jersey beaches are filled with BENNIES except for island beach st park which closes midday to overcrowding.
Come talk to us at 50 and you are still are living paycheck to paycheck and your taxes are double what they are now.

You are right block! I guess she never heard of 50spf. also!
I always hated going to the beach in Jersey because it is dirty and cold and you have to pay to park everywhere. Rip off!
Plus the beach I go to here the sand is like baby powder, have never seen anything like it!
Most teen girls and older in Jersey go to tanning salons and they are worse.
Speaking about Ft. Lauderdale! It is gorgeous there! South Beach beaches are even more beautiful.
Florida has alot of beauty to it. I am a practicing photographer and I cannot think of any place that has more to photograph than right here.
When I go to Jersey for a visit I will take lots of pictures of the malls!!!!!

You are going to the wrong places down here in Florida. No wonder you do not like it. Of course there are bad areas in every state.....hellooooo!
Do you think I hung out in Paterson or Newark? Be real now.
Anyway, I love Florida and I love being fortunate to have been raised in Bergen County, N.J.
Just too bad there is nothing to do there except work and pay those high taxes and bills.
