It is such a turnoff when a man is unkempt. My men have always shaven, smelled good, showered everyday and used good product for their hair and skin. Some men just do not have a clue!

And there it is. That is the attitude that all women have. They think that just because a man doesn't do to himself what they find attractive that the man suddenly isn't attractive to any other women.

No matter what stage in my life I have been as far as weight, hair length and whether or not I have facial hair, I have always had a woman tell me they find me attractive.

I once shaved my head and moustaches but left a goatee and suddenly got all kinds of attention from a certain type of woman. They weren't my cup of tea and I got a sunburn on my scalp so I've never shaved my head since then.

When I had long hair and went without shaving for three weeks I had a co-worker tell me about how she found that style (she probably avoided telling me that she found me attractive to keep it professional) attractive because she used to be a hippie.

When I've complained about gaining weight I've been told by women, "you carry it well" or "there's nothing wrong with men having a little bit of a belly".

Get over yourselves ladies. If you don't find the man attractive, then fine, go find one that you like but him not catering to YOUR PARTICULAR WANTS does not make him clueless.

As for the 'men wouldnt do it if women didnt like it', I cant go along with this one completely. IMO, most single 'men' would do what they want to do regardless of whether a woman approves. If they happen to approve, GREAT, WONDERFUL!!! If they dont, Meh, there are other things in life to worry about. Now, a married man is a different story. Happy wife = happy life.
That's not what I meant. What I meant was that if something cosmetic suddenly turned ALL women off, then a (straight) man wouldn't do it. As far as I remember, most single men have one goal in mind when it comes to the opposite sex so they do to themselves whatever it is that women (who they find attractive) think looks good.

For example, those douches that wear gobs of product and spike up their hair and then pop their polo collars after rubbing on a fake tan do so to attract the type of girls that think that looks good which is usually some bleach blonde who also rubs on a fake tan and wears super expensive sunglasses that cover half their face.

The same goes for those morons in the inner city who walk like penguins to keep their pants from falling all the way to their ankles (I actually saw it happen once as a guy crossed the street and it was hilarious). If the hood rats got together and put the word out that not a single thug who sagged his pants would get any every hoodlum would look like Urkel in a second.

When I was single, I would change my clothes according to whom I was going to see that night. It was only when I was sure that I was only going to be hanging around with other guys that I didn't care how I looked.

Men & Women need to lose weight in general.....take a peek on some of these dating sites where the men and women now list their body type as "average" ??? Since when is size 16 for women and a 42" waist for men "average" ??? We're an out of shape nation of people that has no shame in their appearance......they fool themselves into believing that their body type is "average" because when they look around everyone else is 20 to 40 lbs overweight so they do look "average" when in reality they are actually what used to be "fat".......and to make it more acceptable the term "big and beautiful" is coined.....its a disgrace........very few men or women want a "big and beautiful" spouse.....the only time that big is beautiful regarding weight is when its ribeye steak !!!

Default Are Men In Denial?

Reading some of these posts, I have come to the conclusion that many men resist looking good, and really go out of their way to look undesirable to most women, in a society today that demands such.

What is wrong with looking presentable: showering with a nice soap, wearing a nice pair of troussers, shirt or sweater, combing your hair neatly, using sneakers for sports only, or if it is deemed necessary for your job, shaving often, leaving the unkempt jeans with frazzled hems, and the sports hats behind, you get my point? Most men dress OVERLY casual. Many have taken this look to the extreme, even showing up, like the above on first dates, then expecting to be accepted by their dates. What ever happened to FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

However, the more pressure Hollywood and society in general, place on women, for conspiscous consumption, to be a certain size, have booties this way, bossoms a certain size, wear this and that, or they are not considered "fashionable," the more they are going to demand from men's looks. It stands to reason that if I am expected to "look good all the time," I am going to demand the same from my date.
