Thanks. I'm pretty comfortable with myself. I've got my "Time for 27 -- a Bronx Homecoming" tee on right now.

Besides, I'll bet that Matsui shirt will be worth a small fortune in a few years...assuming it's authentic and not a repro.
If it's game-used, yeah -- but the shirts they sell are made in too-large quantities to be worth anything (you can get them in Modell's, Sports' Authority, Dick's, the major-league stadiums), unless they're signed. Then the value goes up.

The only reason my Jeter jersey has his name on it is that it was a gift. If I'd bought it for myself, there would be a number -- no name.

And yes -- I'm a 54-year-old woman who wears a Yankee jersey (and tees, and jackets, and quite often, a cap) in public. And I don't care if anyone likes it or not.
its not whether or not other people like it. i dont really care. its what it says about you.

Thanks for clarifying!

Yeah but who really cares what it says about you. Your supporting your team. Its uber casual wear. Now, on a first date or on a night out... maybe I agree with you. But just hanging or running errands, who really gives a flying F*** what your wearing as long as the person isnt exposing themselves. People who worry/care about what other people think about them really have too much time on their hands.

But i somewhat agree the captain, any man wearing a shirt with another man's last name is kinda ghey

Authentic home jersey does not have the name only the player #
For Matsui that is 55

I'm still looking for you Kate, nothing yet. DH said he has only seen a couple of them in his lifetime and they were on someone's head in NO. Is the t-shirt no good, or do you already have?

lots of people care. im pretty casual but i do care not to go below a certain level. wearing a sports jersey would be below that level. i think grown ups look immature wearing sports jersey in their day to day life. i guess it gives an appearance that sports plays a bigger part of their life than it should.

the weekend before last some guy was talking to me at the dog park about how he is getting divorced soon. how he likes to play hockey all the time and he isnt very mature and he said he is like mark messier (this was way more information than i wanted from a guy at the dog park). he is the type of guy that wears jerseys to go to the store.

The worst thing I have ever seen regarding wearing sports jerseys is when somebody wears one and tucks it into their pants.
