Heres an example of why I have issue with what we pay teachers. A friends sister (so I am not going to name names or cities or anything) is a PhysEd teacher in NJ for almost 15 years. She has at most 4 classes a day. No homework to grade, no lesson plan really. Oh, she also helps with the yearbook. She makes over $70k year with full bennies. Tell me she has a hard job. Some of the full time coaches make MUCH more.

yes your example is truly sickening, however you have to wonder that not all teaches have it that easy. How about those teachers that have to try and teach -insert subject- to students that don't even speak English.

if it were just teaching, sure that's easy enough, but it goes beyond that.
You have issues with violent students, apathetic parents who don't give a hoot except to say not my kid a whole grocery list of crap they deal with on a day to day basis
You have to walk on egg shells around some of these kids.
It's a far cry from when I went to school or even when my kids went to school
