Never happen. If they think this will save them from whats happening, they are kidding themselves. Once gambling was opened around the country, that started the slide in A.C. Atlantic city had its chance to really build like Vegas, but they had all these rules and laws along with not taking advantage of being a beach city. Only now are they making these nice beach clubs and restaurants and really sprucing up the city. It's probably too late. The highway extension to the marina cost around 350 million and that was a struggle to get it passed. This would be even harder to get through.
"The company said it ideally could be built without taxpayer expense. Tickets, which could cost about $8 for all-day traveling, would help repay the investment costs, Doppelmayr CTEC said."
what do they mean "could be"? they probably mean that it wont but are trying to trick people into believing that it may actually be a viable business.
look where it says "would help repay the investment costs." if it was private money, then it wouldnt be looking to "help repay investment costs." they would be looking to turn a profit while paying off any debt.
$8 for an all day pass isn't bad. I just came back from AC, We took a cab to Dinner, a cab from dinner to the Borgata, one from the Borgata back to Tropicana. We spent so much on cabs. It would have been nice to have other options. A little train going back and forth to all the casinos would be nice but I don't see that happening.

The jitney works for us - plus those funny things at the bottom of our legs. Generally we walk the entire boardwalk at least twice. If we stay at The Trop, we'll walk up to Resorts or Showboat - and then back - usually one trip per day. If we stay north beach, we walk down to The Trop. We used to make it to The Hilton every trip, but I am so done there after my last 2 trips.
They gave us a handicapped room (I am handicapped). It was 1/2 the size of a regular room, did not have any special amenities - no strobe light for fire or door, etc., the ceiling was slanted, there was barely 2' to get around the foot of the bed - and when I wrote them, they didn't even respond. Hilton is forever on my list of "not a penny" places.

The thing was, A.C. didn't want to be like Vegas, they wanted to be like Monte Carlo, but on this side of the Atlantic. The problem with that was, everyone over here wanted it to be like Vegas. The BIG, and I mean BIG, advantage that A.C. has over all the other places in the N.E. is that they have table games, the other casinos are glorified slot parlors.

All of the indian casino's suck...
I really think something like this would help Atlantic City a lot. Would help to attract events such as concerts, UFC, Boxing, conventions, etc.
what atlantic city needs to do is bulldoze everything on pacific avenue. then they should build that up into a nice place for people to walk down. they should also bulldoze everything between pacific avenue and atlantic avenue. they should put a big electric fence with lots of barbwire down atlantic avenue.
