its cheap if you dont spend the night or if you stay outside of the city. weekends nights in an ac hotel are very expensive. the problem is that during the week and during the day it is filled with day trippers. senior citizens, pwt, pbt, etc. who take bus trips over their to spend their social security or money they dont have. so its a low end crowd. the borgata doesnt have as much of that because they dont market to the daytrippers and they arent on the boardwalk. so its a more high end crowd and a nicer experience.

It's not as cheap as Vegas actually, not even close. The only thing that makes Vegas cost the same or more is airfare.

I don't understand the hate for AC on here either, GiantRutgersfan. It is what it is and it is a fun place for casinos and everything that goes with them. It's not as good as Vegas but it's way better than anything else on the east coast or even better than probably everything except Vegas even though it's not even close to what Vegas is. Nothing comes close to what Vegas is. It's kinda like this is the order:

1. Vegas

(huge gap)

2.Atlantic City

(big but not huge gap)

3. Everything else

I would just like to see the current casinos stay in business like I always remembered. Resorts is in big trouble and that was the first casino so that's a bad sign for the rest who are also struggling and making less and less the past few quarters.

Yes, I said it because it's the least popular city in Jersey period. I've never seen anybody here mention anything about Atlantic City. Everybody here seems to be more interested in visiting and going to Newark, Elizabeth, Paterson and other cities but AC.

I have nothing against AC, as already mentioned, it is what it is. It's definitely struggling, and has been for a long time, and it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up half it's current size in the next 10 years.

But that said, what I really wonder, is, should sea level rise occur due to global warming, what the heck will AC do? They're right on the water and surrounded by it on all sides. Sure, that's a long time away, if at all. Perhaps if the warning signs are there, they'll tear down AC as we know it today and rebuild it (rename it as well?) further inland. Or maybe they'll create the world's first floating casino, sort of like the flotel concept; that would be interesting.

Many of the posts here do not seem to be from people who frequent AC, like myself. Go to Borgata, Harrahs, or Ceasars on any given weekend and you will see how packed the casino's are. You wouldn't think folks have less money or that the economy is bad if you saw how many people are gambling. While it's a shame that a new casino has not replaced Sands, and that construction seems to have stopped on the new casino near the Showboat, don't kid yourselves into thinking that these places aren't making money, they're just making less money. In time, they'll make more, just like any other business.

What's your problem, son? I'm giving you the opportunity to speak instead of following me around because I'm not going to keep playing these games with you. For real, what is your problem?
