These "appointments" at MVC go like you're giving away money on a city street (Edison: transfer, DMV)

So, I had to go to Eatontown again, for a walk-in, (my service is not able to be done online.)
That all goes smoothly.. We process my transaction, they tell me to make an appointment.
I sit down, mae an appointment for November 19th at 12:15PM,
and I'm apparently taking too long as mid-thing, that changes to 1:15PM...
When I first logged on, it was 63 appointments available
After I made mine, it was 58 appointments available
And. Checking before I hit "post"...
22 appointments available.
Damn.
(To boot: They were having the required service on the other side of the agency, as they told me this.)
Anyone else ever experienced situations such as this?

Might as well try a DMV further down south, ie: Manahawkin.
Yeah they just gave me a generic piece of paper saying return anyday before 12pm to Edison DMV.
