Default When Do You Put Up Your Christmas Tree?

I was planning on picking one up tomorrow night but with rain/wind scheduled, doesn't look like it'll happen. Next possible day for me would be Saturday night but more than likely Sunday.

More importantly, when do you take it down? I like to keep it up until the 2nd weekend in January.

The years that we've had a fresh tree, maybe a week before Christmas, and then we keep it until it started to look dry.

When we used an artificial tree, it went up sooner, maybe the beginning of the second week of December and I took it down when there were complaints about the big green thing in the living room - I would happily sit on the floor looking up at those lights and ornaments for weeks after the big day.

When I was a kid, we always kept the tree and outdoor lights up at least until Russian Christmas, a nod to the other families in the neighborhood.

Russian Christmas

Usually the 2nd week in December is when I buy mine and put it up.

The classic Christmas tunes (Bing Crosby, Sinatra, Nat King Cole) go on the stereo, I get all my classic Christmas decorations including my Grandmother's antique ones from waaay back, and I make my classic Christmas hot cocoa -- Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix, Godiva chocolate liquor, Kahlua, Bailey's Irish Creme, and Peppermint Schnapps....try it and you will thank me....

... and then I decorate the heck out of that tree.

I have 12-foot high ceilings, so every year, my tree is a sight to see.

Can you tell I'm a Christmas fan??

Whenever I or whoever decides to put it up gets around to it. We're all too busy.

I don't care about Christmas. Just give me my gifts.
