Why? I like Shop-Rite. They usually have the best selection of prepared foods. I'll often stop in there to pick out a few things for lunch. The store by me even has a full sushi bar with freshly made sushi all day. It's by far my favorite supermarket.

Good selection, good prices, but it's crowded shoulder-to-shoulder all hours of the day. I've never cared for the layout of the one's I've been in, they seem cramped. Cramped and crowded, makes shopping there an aggravating experience.
If they have a sale I go there, and since I usually wait for sales, I tend to go there. If I need something not on sale at Acme I usually go to Shop Rite.
Depends where I am and what I'm shopping for... at home we tend to do our big shopping at ShopRite but the A&P is closer so we'll pick up small items there... down at my apartment I go to Walmart because it's clean and priced decently, the ShopRite is incredibly ghetto for lack of a better word. It's just plain dark, dirty, and cramped... not to mention needing to find a quarter just to get a shopping cart is a pain.
Shoprite about 90% of the time. We have the one voted best supermarket in bergen county within walking distance. You can't beat the prices or the prepared food section.
