Did I hear that right? We the state needs 200 more paychecks? I know I also heard every governor does this before they leave but so many? I guess NJ is not doing that bad huh? We can afford 200 more state workers!!
I can't tell from reading this if it is as bad as it sounds. In other words, it's not like he's creating new positions just to get his buddies jobs and $$$. For sure, this is something Christie asked him to do and he's doing it anyway.
Also, the article says the positions are both paid & unpaid. And it's 180 total.
At the very least, he's doing something that the new governor asked him not to do, which I suppose is jerky...but I don't think we can jump to conclusions and assume worse case scenario.
The people are going to get hired (or appointed as the case may be) no matter which governor hires/appoints them. Corzine is trying to get his people in before his term is done. Christie wants HIS people in these positions, and so is trying to block Corzine's choices.
It's just the samo samo politics that occur with these types of positions every time an election results in a party change, folks.
That about sums it up..I had read Christie asked him not to do this ..
I think Corzine has a real spiteful streak in him.
It's one thing to argue about a politician's policies, but to intentionally contribute to the state's problems on the way out? Uncalled for.
