But I'd bet dollars to donuts at least half WORK north of it (judging by the amount of cars I see northbound on the pkwy in the morning!). LOL

LOL - but I don't see much in common between Warren and Burlington! I like the breakdown of Skylands/Gateway, etc.

The area now considered to be South Jersey was the area that was consistantly West Jersey. Maps - East and West Jersey, 1664-1702

Where was the West Jersey/East Jersey line?

Well, New Sweden spilled over to SE PA & northern Delaware, which helps to explain why South Jersey, to this day, is so similar to the other 2 areas. The Dutch had conquered the Swedes, but infiltration of the area was minimal. Prior to the arrival of the English, New Sweden was mostly the natives & an assortment of Swedes & Finns.

Quaker involvement with East Jersey was minimal, while they were firmly entrenched in West Jersey. Then you have the Jacobites in East Jersey who were sent to the new world by Cromwell. . .they were split between SC & East Jersey too keep them separated.

I agree, judging by the few times I've driven to Secaucus or Hoboken since I moved down here. That's why I take the train!

You're right. We never even think about you down there. You don't exist.
