Here's something equally mind-blowing. Tell every New Jerseyan, minus the residents of the city of Paterson, that they must vacate the state in 24 hours. Then, ask the people of Paterson to re-settle the entire state. You would have just created the population density of... New Mexico.
You'd be surprised how many times those of us from "West Jersey" (Burlington, Camden and Gloucester Counties near Philadelphia) feel the same way when driving through other areas of South Jersey.
I've probably mentioned it before in this thread, but I'm always surprised that when people from NNJ think of South Jersey, they think of the Pine Barrens, the farmland of Salem/Cumberland Co, and the shore. Basically, every part except the core of South Jersey. It's as if people don't even know that the tri-county area aka "West Jersey" exists. When SJ people say "South Jersey," this is what they are thinking of, not the woods and farms.

That movie with Dan Akroyd. I think it was called Nothing But Trouble. That is how people view South Jersey. I don't get it. lol

West Jersey is Hunterdon & Warren. You're lumped in with Philly by Northerners which they definitely consider South Jersey

I think of the Delaware Valley since I lived there and have family there. I don't know where you get "west jersey" from since nearly everyone in that area refers to it as the DV.

I agree, nobody here calls it West Jersey, I was just referring to GOAT's post that Jersey08057 mentioned. However, the term does have a decent amount of historic use in the region, for example the (now-defunct) West Jersey Hospital, along with many other local businesses.
