Laurita is a nice winery. Whenever I was in the area, I made a point of driving through New Egypt or Allentown. You went to a historic farm, mill site there a couple of years ago. I remember because the two times I stopped there, they were closed.

I've taken the self guided tour of Georgian Court University in Lakewood and visited the Carranza Memorial in Tabernacle. Few people realize that Greenwich has been around longer than Philadelphia. They burned a tea shipment in 1774! Southern New Jersey is an interesting place.

You are the only other person I've ever "met" who knows about the burning of the tea in NJ!

My father had an old book printed in the late 19th century about it called The Campfire of Mad Anthony.

Personally, I am offended by the ignorance of those who are NOT aware of this historic event.

Along the shore and in the sticks, maybe.

You can do that in Burlington County, among others. I owned eight rooms, 2 1/2 baths there--front porch, screened porch, deck. It cost less than $300,000 and the taxes were less than $10,000.

If you're talking slightly less than $300k/$10k, that's only an accomplishment in very, very relative terms (and unless you're out in the country, $300k won't get you anything "big"). Certainly, taxes aren't as bad as in North Jersey, but places like Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Mt. Laurel, etc. are notably more tax-heavy than their PA (and especially DE) equivalents.

South Jersey shore (only adjacent to the ocean, not on the mainland) taxes are low by almost anyone's standards. Taxes often end up under 1% FMV.

Prices in Haddonfield are ridiculous and taxes are higher in Camden County. Before my neighbor had to cut and run, she was selling her 4 bedroom 2 1/2, in ground pool for $250,000. I'm sure that sounds like quite a deal to someone from Northern New Jersey.

Yes, that's to whom the title refers. I'm wondering, though, if that book had anything to do with the tea burning. I thought so, but unfortunately, the book was ruined by a basement flood some years ago. I don't find any connection with Wayne to this tea party. I can't remember why I thought that was what the book was about.
