I am relocating to the Montclair area in June. I am in need of a GOOD pre-K. I am looking for a full day program. Curriculum is important! Any help would be appreciated I am having no luck on the internet of really finding out which are good ones. I have looked at Parkview Academy and Montclair Academy. I have seen many private schools. Is there a public pre-k in these areas? How do they compare to private?
google it; there's more..
Some districts have public pre-k. Check with the Board of Ed in the town you will live in. Also consider a Montessori school.
good luck!
There are many pre-k programs in Montclair; they run the gamut from those
that are more like day care to those that are not only academic but also offer many enriching activities. It really depends what you are looking for. If you ask for a tour of the various programs, you should get a better idea of what they offer as well as a gut sense of which program is the best fit for your child. Many but not all pre-schoolers are ready for a rich, nurturing, full day program; of course, you know your child best. Good Luck! (FYI - Many of the better programs fill early.)
Still looking? Check out the Montclair Community Pre-k. It's as close to public as we have. Tuition is on a sliding scale, so it's very inclusive. We had a great experience there with our most recent pre-k child.
