Are there any farmers markets or other such places in Central Jersey where one can get fresh vegetables and fruits during the winter months ?

Thanks.

This is an indoor farmer's market, located on Rt. 130 in East Windsor. It's in the Burlington Coat Factory shopping center. Here's the information:

370 US Highway 130
East Windsor, NJ 08520

There's one in Hillsborough, NJ located right off of 206. It's produce is pretty fresh and most people that shop there give it good reviews.

Mod cutwhole foods which provides farmer's market type produce was missing from the CNJ Metuchen/Edison area. I too am interested in finding farmer's market good in the area. I think the nearest whole foods is down near Princeton.

Yup, that is the whole foods I goto but its not that convenient from Edison/Metuchen. Probably a 30-40 min drive depending on rt. 1 traffic. Hard to find good organic produce in the area. I really wish Whole Foods moved into the area. Some of the Asian Markets have a good selection of produce but not much in the way of organic.

You may want to check out the PA Dutch Amish Farmers Market in Kingston, NJ. It's located off Route 27 just above the village of Kingston.

Just be careful about some of the year round Farmer's markets that are in stores. They aren't necessarily local produce so it's not necessarily better than what you get at a regular supermarket (though it is usually cheaper). There are year round farmer's markets in Hopewell and Trenton: Jersey Fresh Search
