How can a written test that is the exact same for everyone be racist

Dropping the exam would bolster minority hiring and avert legal battles, according to one source, while others confirm that the exam could be scrapped to open the process to as many people as possible.".......

Maybe they should stop doing criminal backround checks. That would open up a whole lot of doors for some.

Affirmative action at it's worst.
How many of the minorities shelled out the close to $2000.00 to study via a tutor for the exam. Many police do this, they don't go in and blindly take this test.
On a given department they all make the same salary..so take the tutor course, you may do better.

Would love to see what an acceptable test looks like compared to the current test.

Of the candidates that take the test, what does the profile of the candidates experience and education look like for those that passed and those that failed? Could their be a pattern in predicting who will pass?

I would think that the DOJ would get involved in such a case on the merit of fairness alone. Do you suppose there could be biased questions that preclude white officers from passing and promotion? Is that not a concern of the DOJ, as in justice for all?

Do the tests given in the school system meet that requirement, ie. fitness to be promoted a grade or graduated?

What does the teachers exam look like?

How about promotion within the DOJ?

Hate to see all that taxpayer money spent on lawsuits when a simple discussion between the DOJ and Civil Service would probably suffice.
