Default Recommendations for south/central NJ Towns

I am planning to buy a 3 bedroom townhome in south/central NJ.
My wife works in Piscataway. I often commutes to NYC. The public transport to NYC is not a big concern since I drive to work. So I need some town that is reasonably close to Piscataway.

Any one have any suggestions for me? Few of my concerns are :
- Reasonable proximity to Piscataway.
- Not sky high taxes.
- Average to above avg schools (primarily concerned about Elementary school only. I just had a baby now, so school is not a primary concern right now)

I was considering Franklin Township, but getting some feedbacks about its schools. Also in consideration is Hillsborough.

My budget is 300,000 max.

Any recommendations?

I would consider Piscataway itself before Franklin. Taxes are reasonable and there are a lot of complexes. South Edison would be another option. Not sure if you would find a 3BR in Hillsborough for under 300K. Taxes would not be cheap either. My suggestions are Piscataway (well I live here), North Brunswick, South Edison, maybe East Brunswick and South Brunswick (both could be expensive), Middlesex (borough), South Plainfield.

Agreeing with either Piscataway, South Plainfield. Middlesex Boro or North Brunswik.
