i'm looking for a nice italian restaurant with good pizza, maybe even brick-oven pizza, in central jersey (new brunswick, edison, woodbridge etc). i'm not looking for one of those walk-in places that you can find on every corner but more like a real restaurant to have dinner at with a friend. i was told bertucci's in woodbridge is nice. any others i should consider?
Bertucci's is OK, but it's a chain, and not exactly what I'd call an "intimate atmosphere" if that's what you're looking for. There was a place called Italian Touch on Gill Lane in Iselin that was great, but I believe it may have changed hands in the past few years, so I can't vouch for it anymore.
I will try those places as well. I have not found a "good" pizza place yet in Jersey (or bagels for that matter) - so maybe these places will surprise me.
I will admit, I am a biased former Brooklynite, although I now love living in New Jersey, I will be hard to please when it comes to things like pizza & bagels (not to mention getting used to making 7 rights turns to make a simple left turn).
its pretty much dead central NJ. what part of the state would you consider it?
