What's the best way to commute from Northern NJ (Mahwah/Ridgewood) to upper west side (70's)?

Are you looking to drive, bus, or take trains?

If you have a place to park, it's a relatively easy commute by car, depending on how early you go. If not, just take the train or bus and switch to the subway.

But if you drive, just get to the GW Bridge and take the Henry Hudson Pkway down. From Ridgewood, I would recommend going to Rt. 4 in Paramus and then east on 4 to the Bridge. From Mahwah, you can do the same thing, or consider taking 287 to the Palisades Parkway, because I think the approach to the GWB is less crowded from there, most days. But 17 to 4 is the most direct route.

Good luck.
