My son is coming to Rutgers to audition for their School of Music on a Wednesday. I have them in East Brusnwick for two nights, then NYC for one night. Should I rent them a car while in NJ and then return it and rely on PT?

yes. ideally, a rental car place near the NB train station. so, that they can get all their stuff together, drop the car off and take the NJ Transit into Penn Station.

Shoot...I just looked and East Brunswick and New Brunswick and they are 6 miles apart. Darn! And Penn Station is the one in downtown NYC? They are going to Embassy Suites on 102 North End Avenue.

You need a car- at least for the NJ portion of the trip. If you can drop the car conveniently near a train station, you can take the train to Penn Station in NYC, but if you've got no transportation back to the airport, I'd keep the car and just pay the overnight parking cost in NYC for the one night.

Besides- everyone has to experience driving in Manhattan at least once in their life....lol.

I can't make heads or tails of this request but New Brunswick has a train station and Newark and JFK airports are both accessible by rail from New Brunswick.
