Exactly. What I was trying to say was that Newark was not unique in that situation. City crime stats (any city) can never garner every single crime, violent or not. Even a safe big city such as NYC, has neighborhoods that have those same kind of violent crimes go unreported b/c the victims feel that Johnny-law is more trouble than he's worth. as you stated
My point was that a lot of cities have areas with this trait. (Even though they may have more geographical territory and may not be as small as Newark)

Now if you ask me what city is worse it's a no brainer they have 5 to 1 ratio on murders. Alot of our crime is committed by thugs that come over from Newark and rob and shoot our WONDERFUL drug dealers. We wait at the bridge for the unfortunate youths to head back to Newark because they have to get up in the morning to go to work.

As an "apparent" LEO you should be more careful about how you characterize stats. Every major city has crime via drugs, gangs etc. In Newark as in every city, that crime almost always happens in specific neighborhoods(not rampant and wild as some idiot here said). There ARE good neighborhoods in Newark despite what any hater on this board says. Wash. D.C. has over 100 murders but nobody denegrates it the way people in Jersey treat Newark. I think people in D.C. (my Hometown) are busy enjoying their lives, not making themselves feel better by stepping on those who live in places like southeast D.C. or Newark. Many people who I've encountered who put down Newark live in some rundown "suburb" in a busted old house(Oops, that's 92% of jersey!). Point is, if you don't like an urban setting, with all of it's ills, frills and thrills, stay away. Don't fly in to our airport, rail/bus into Penn, come to events at NJPAC/PRUD.Ctr. Don't try and sneak back when the restaurants and bars really began to come back(see Scullys etc.). Stay in your filthy industry dead town and eat hoagies and "pie" or something.

There are cities that have very few areas like that. Newark has many areas like that. That was my point. Stats in a place like Austin TX would be far more reliable. If you were talking murders only I would say no, but I am speaking of all types of violent crimes.
Most people feel the stats are a waste of time in regard to places like Newark for that reason.

Why make a point about "haters" when you are a hater yourself. Yes people do sneak in to see concerts and sporting events. I don't see the need to bash their areas. You could just tell them to stay out all together. But you are hating on their areas just like they are "hating" on Newark and that cancels you out. LOL.

Give me a break. People in MD and VA denegrate DC on a daily basis.
This reminds me of the person on here who keeps saying that people in NY and MA don't complain about taxes like NJ does. Another load of crock.

I can't even say for certain that Newark has 'many' areas like that unless it's compared to a city the size of NY. When comparing a city that has a supposed worse crime rate than Newark such as St. Louis are the stats any more or less reliable? To me they aren't
A city like Austin perhaps does not have a bad crime rate altogether.
Perhaps stats are indeed a waste of time in the case of Newark, but I think stats are all we really have to compare. even personal accounts: My grandfather lives on Osbourne ter. and even his saying the street is 'quieter' doesn't say much to me (not that I think he's lying but 'quieter' can mean so many things)

Wow. Someone should really do a psychological study of "senior members" of web boards. It would probably find that to a man you people tend not to have much power in real life so you have to find a little hole in the virtual world where you can fool yourself into thinking that you are more important than you actually are. And actually, I'm not a very sensitive person. I am curious, which is why I asked those questions. But I did so with the understanding that people who tend to have posts in the thousands on Internet message boards tend to be pathologically territorial and hostile when someone challenges them in their little virtual domains.

HATER!!!!!!!HAHAHAHA!!
You're excatly who I was describing!!
It's not hating when you slight an area and avoid it altogether as i do. Haters drop in with envy and roll out with jealousy talking smack all the way to the message board! LOL!!
