I was driving through Newark today and I saw the most obvious crack dealer. He was the only person standing on the block, not next to a bust stop with dark shades on. The store owner can see him and is probably frightened to call the police because he might end up dead. I swear we have clowns running Newark.

Is this Mr Roger's neighborhood that you're talking about?
Oh wrong, I got confused for a second.
He left his job at PBS to accept an appointment as the new Czar of the War on Drugs.

In any case city-data is not the place to have a valid informed discourse on inner-city affairs. There are many other sites where you can have an intelligent exchange-some of them deal with Newark specifically.
Why waste your time with the same lame posts over and over? They do not inform and result in the lowering of the bar on this forum. That may not be the intent but it sure is the result.

Who are you to say these post make no sense?
Do you even know the actual PURPOSE of this forum? I was moving and needed an answer to my question. My post was actually very appropriate. And sweetie the name of the Forum is CITY Data--- umm hmm yeah that title screams Suburbanite. That is what I expect though...some white suburbanites believe they are in charge of and run everything.
Just know that I know your intent and M.O. I've seen your post.

You don't know the intent of anyone here. You also don't know the race of the people posting. People think they run things? A little hostile huh?
Really- the same posts show up on Newark over and over. Anyone who has been on here for a while has seen this. Same posters, same posts. Flame type stuff really. Very little real insight. But somehow you found much helpful info? Good for you this time.
The fact that this particular forum attracts mostly people from the burbs is not even disputable.

Something new would be starting a new thread. This one has stood the test of time and will continue to do so. New people will show up and post, people like myself who have posted before will post (you'll post). You seem to hate this but people who want to say something be it good or bad will definitely post

No
Although what many people say that Newark is a baad place to be it is not all in all areas. Many of the responses are naive to say that it is you cant take one part of Newark and say the whole city is a bad place to live that is just ignorant really. Ironbound section is a nice place to live and by the hospital UMDNJ there are newly builtr apartments there also. With kids there are some schools that you can send them to that are great also. If you are conserned with the gang activity then you just mind your business and keep it moving they dont just bother you for no reason. However, I would watch myself you know but affordable housing is also there and can be a help many times. So its not really a bad place to live and its not terrible as people try to make it.
