Hi,

I am looking to buy a house in Piscataway and wanted to know about the choosing a school.

When I look at any house, it does more than 1 elementary, Middle school. So when we pick a house, do we have the option to choose any school from the list or does the school accept students based on the section of Piscataway where they live?

I appreciate if some one can help.

Thanks!

Piscataway has a rule where if you live within two miles of a school the kids walk, if it's more than two miles they get bussed.

I'd look for something on the south side of town, below 287. The further away you are from Plainfield, the better. There are four elementary schools K-3, then two 4-5's one of which is right near the Plainfield border, so if you live on the north side of town, most definitely your kids will go to that one, called Arbor. The other is Martin Luther King in the big development off River Rd.

The quality of education here is some of the best I've ever seen, but the high school has a gang problem. Since Pway is located right next to Plainfield alot of people who live in Plainfield just outside of town try to sneak into the school district.

Piscataway is a very diverse town, a true melting pot if I ever saw one.
