A few questions about South Orange/Essex County (moving to, health)

I am contemplating moving to South Orange or to one of the nearby towns. I work in healthcare and I don't drive. Now if I were to take a job that required me to work till say 11 at night, is there a functioning public transit at that hour in South Orange, especially if I have to take a job in a nearby town? I am also interested in finding out about what the healthcare field is like in that area in terms of places to apply for employment.
