I avoid the highways anyway, but it better not cause congestion on local roads in Denville. We already have enough people bypassing the 80/287 traffic, however, this would be a terrible idea, it will only cause more traffic.

Time we raise the gas taxes and perhaps implement a car tax. Anyone for more tolls in NJ...sigh...commie.

EDIT: Not commies. I just hate the thought of more taxes, whatever they be. NJ is doing something wrong if everyone is taxed more than other states.

Well lower every other tax by merging towns and raise the gas tax.

I'd support that. Start with consolidating the schools into regional districts.

What do the last couple of posts have to do with some one wanting to know if 287 & 78 had tolls on them??
Just an FYI you need federal approval to toll these roads which was just denied to the State of PA for I80

This is the right, albeit hardest, thing to do. But it would require making enemies at higher levels than anyone is willing to take on. It's better to make working class stiffs enemies and rile up the masses under the guise of "cleaning house".

no tolls on 287 and 78!

The only folks who want tolls on 80, 287, and 78, are those that live near the turnpike or the parkway.

In that sense, their feelings must border on spiteful! The mentality being "Well if those traveling north-south are going to pay tolls, then those going east-west should too". Wrong. The correct answer is, no one should have to pay tolls. They should all be bulldozed to the ground.

that's correct, because we've dissolved into a society where people aren't happy unless "the other guy" is getting screwed.
