What's not to like about Hunterdon Co.?
Too many post here are about "that town's OK but my town is better".

Everybody can't live in the town with the best schools, best
location, best restaurants, best shopping, least amount of crime, cleanest streets, most polite police officers, and all combined with the lowest property taxes along with the highest real estate values. Plus a 10 minute commute to work

Most of us live in some other towns.

Northwestern NJ is underrated. Give me Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon any day over Hudson, Union, and Essex.
I agree, I just wouldn't want to commute to my job in Bergen County from there.

Please, let me know the name of your town, if it's everything I listed. I'll move there right away.

I was just joking.

But FWIW, I'd say we have best location (subjective, of course), least crime, clean streets and friendliest police officers on lock. Plus, I work from home most of the time, so a 10 minute commute would be torture.

I don't have kids, so I couldn't tell you about schools. Most people complain that all they talk about at the board meetings are sports instead of academics. Plus I'd consider our inflated real estate values more of a curse than a blessing. How people afford lots in my town as their second homes in 2010 blows me away.

I like northwestern NJ but I haven't been to Hunterdon. Isn't it very expensive?

Some areas are more expensive then others. I lived in Holland Township and really loved it.

Last week we rode our bikes on the Columbia Trail from LV to Califon, stopped and had a drink at the General Store. Gorgeous trail, gorgeous day. Next time we're going into High Bridge and eating at Casa Maya! I love Hunterdon too!
