Default Moving to Wayne,NJ - Need help with school district

Hi,

We will be moving to NJ in late June. I going to work in Wayne - office is just north of Willowbrook Mall. We have two daughters 5 & 3 months. Please suggest surrounding areas which are not too far, have a good school district and have apartments available for rent. I am looking for a reasonable commute.

Cheers

@John - Change of plans will be moving in Early August now...

@ SunnyNJ - When you say Wayne will work, can you please elaborate? Wayne's school district is not very highly rated and is it a safe place?

you can follow the 23 corridor north of Willowbrook - Wayne, Lincoln Park, Pequannock, Pompton Lakes/Riverdale - depending on where your office is, you may never need to go on the highway.

Wayne is a spread-out town, though; be careful where you are lookiing in Wayne, as your commute could be agonizingly long just to cross town.

Um, Wayne is quite highly rated, actually. Many students go on to Ivy League schools or opt for a full ride at a school the next tier down. Wayne schools are often rated among the top high schools in the country. I'm curious as to where you get your information. I get mine from U.S. News and personal experience =)

Also, it's a VERY safe town. Just watch out for flood areas near Willowbrook mall and the river.

Agreed - Wayne has good schools. Wonder why you think otherwise?

Wayne has great school systems! I know sine I went to middle school and high school there.
I would recommend looking at the "Hills" side. I am not too familiar with the apartments/prices but there are quite a few.

Also like above, be careful of the Willowbrook area since it does flood. I live more towards Oakland and it takes me about 20 minutes to get to the mall. Wayne is pretty spread out.

Let me elaborate a bit more so that I can get better answers -

1. I got my information about the schools from greatschools.net. I am looking for elementary schools as my daughter is going to start Kindergarten.
2. I am going to rent, hopefully close to the school. If it will help I can post names/address of elementary schools that I am considering.
3. Any recommendations for a good secular private school?

Thank You all for your responses.

We are looking at homes in the Stone Bridge development of Wayne. Does anyone have any advice on how this development is? Tx!
