Agreed. Some section in Settlers are "run down" but, many are still well maintained.

I think they started digging the basement this week Shan. We're too far away to check things out. You'll have to drive up from LEH and take a peek for us :-)

Yes they dug the holes it is nice cause you can see where the home is going to lay out on the lot. I guess we will be the first to move in..... If my damn house sells. Keep your fingers crossed. I will keep you posted on the happenings over there.

Yes, we met with Luke. I think we were actually the first ones to meet with him. I guess we will both be some of the firsts to move in. I wonder how many homes they have started?

Thanks for the update Shanlynn. I think we will try to get down this weekend to check things out. I believe the lumber was delivered Labor day weekend so I figure the house should start to be framed out by next weekend. Mortgage process is ok. We just sent the full paperwork in yestrday--we had a couple small delays along the way. Hope to have a closing date soon.

Again, good luck selling your current home; I know the market is very rough right now.

We are also looking to go with a major builder, not Ryan or any of the HOV's - we ruled out JS Hov because of small lots and weren't impressed with house layout.

Anyway, what I am seeing with complaints is that there are a few on the builder we want to use but not in this state. Think about how many homes / communities these builders have done, then look at the complaints. If you compare it like that, of course you will find unhappy people, but what about the other thousand or so buyers that did not think to give any feedback? If I am happy I try to give good feedback to balance out the negative, not a lot of people do that. If you are happy, be sure to go to a site like rate your builder and say so.

We've managed to speak to a few people that have lived in the community we're looking at. Each one said they were great with no major problems. One did have water in their basement which was fixed quickly.

Good luck with your purchase. I used to work in Manahawkin, on Route 72. I can say that the weekend traffic is horrible, so if you have to shop on 72, you want to try to do it on a weekday during shore season.

Default Our experience with Ryan

Hi, my wife and I are building a Savoy in Farmington NY and we are having a very good experience. We were a little leery because some people told us not to go with them but so far, so good. We are also using NVR and they have been very good as well and they are facilitating our VA Loan. If you can get a VA Loan, make sure you go to the Dept of Veteran Affairs website and fill out the form to get your eligibility certificate!

What happens to your contract if your existing home does not sell? Good luck.

Smile Ryan Homes in Barnegat NJ

Hi

There is a great Ryan home for sale in barengat NJ. 125 Georgetown Blvd. It is listed at 369900 for the savoy model with lots of upgrades. My wife and I looked at it last week and if anyone is looking to get into a newer home built buy Ryan for a great prices this is it!. Ryan is selling the same model starting at 380000 without any upgrades.

Jump on this .. I live in Barengat in the same Ryan home development. It is a quite street with great neighbors. Best part is the customer service manager for Ryan lives in the same model in the same development.

Good luck.. hope someone get this before you sign with Ryan directly.
